I thought it was IHRA and NHRA rules to have screw in valve stems in all race wheels. I did notice quite a few cars at the track the past few races without these. Is this an issue that we have overlooked??? OR is it not an issue with IHRA?

Things sometimes do get overlooked,as it gets very busy in the tech lanes, but I would also like to add that we do notify people of items that are not in compliance with the rule book and we inform them to have these things fixed by the next race. I keep track of these infractions and a list is made and checked each race weekend as we tech vehicles. Just a little note that an ordinary rubber vavle stem can support up to 6500lbs of weight before breakage. I will make sure that the other tech people and myself watch for the stems more closely in the future. Thankyou for the info Bad. Sam Greenfield Dragway Tech Dept.
