If I go to Greenfield on August 21st, I only plan to make a few passes on Saturday, I just want to get some new ET's for my Merc. Will I have to pay the full race weekend price? I don't want to run on Sunday in the Gamblers race - only Saturday. Last year I broke the diff on the 1st pass....... ....I hope ti have better luck this time with my new 9" diff. ;D

This is a touchy subject and I am a little hesitant to even comment at all but there are reasons why it's taking so long for someone to reply to your questions. This is a concept no track operator wants to deal with. First of all is it kills the payouts which normally come from the entry fees. Secondly, it is open to abuse(don't want to go into details for the obvious reason but you can ask any of the staff at CB Dragway) Worst of all it encourages those who normally go out in the first round on Sunday to join this "saturday only" trend. If that trend continues all that will be around on sunday are the "heavy hitters". Whatever the NSDRA decides to do will not be an easy decision for them to make. At CB Dragway we are still trying to find a solution and we are watching this thread closely to see what develops.

Yeah, that all makes sense.
Just sucks for the average goe who just wants to do a few time trials and see what his car will do.
But the payout thing makes sense..

Thanks, that sounds reasonable. I just don't race for both days because my car/engine is not built specifically for racing and in 2 days you can put a lot of stress/wear on the old bomb from multiple runs.... The big reason I only want one day is the old Merc has to carry my butt to Liverpool and home - no trailer in my future....LOL ;D....Last year I limped it home to Halifax with a "locked up" diff....that would be a long, expensive tow charge.

Sorry to create ;D confusion. As the old saying goes " Right church -- Wrong pew " . At least the powers in charge of the NSDRA said that they would tackle this question. I'm sure we can all well imagine that their plate is quite full with preparation for the upcomong race. Once again, all the best. --- Kevin
