Well we made the trip down from Cape Breton for the weekend not knowing what to expect since we hadn't been there before. Traction was MUCH better then I expected. Got a new best ET without nitrous and probably would've got a new best ET with nitrous as well, If I didn't leave the bigger jets I normally use at the shop. Thanks to everyone that put on the event for the weekend. You put up with some pretty cold weather, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be standing out in that all day long. I'm looking forward to goin back next season and I'll deffinetly recommend to others to make the trip as well. For Calum, don't complain about the track being disorganized, YOU are the one that showed up an hour late, i'm sure no one in the NSDRA made you late. And you should have stuck around if you wanted more seat time, I ended up gettin 8 passes in on Saturday. ;D Craig Road Rage Performance

Craig, I am glad your first trip to Greenfield Dragway was a good one. It was a bit nippy but the smell of the fuel and tire smoke has a way of warming a person up. ;DCongrats on a new best ET, to bad you forgot the jets for the NOS would of been interresting to see what ET that would of been. ;D And as for Calum, I was at the head of the staging lanes when he approached Mitch and myself, for a guy that made the statement that he has been racing for 4 years, he certainly does not act like a true racer. Very rude and foul mouthed, did not want to listen to reason at all when Mitch was trying to explain to him that there would be tt's between rounds but he just walked off muttering profanities. If he would of stayed he could of got in more tt's like the rest of us did. I made 8 passes on saturday myself. Anyway enough said about him, glad you had fun and your car ran well, hope to see you there in 2005 season. Sam

first off, I don't want to start any arguements, my post was rude and I diserve what was said above.
I just want to say that when I talked to the guy at the staging lanes (Mitch) I specifically ask if there wer going to be any more time trials. The responce as I understood it was a resonding no. Miscommunication obviously leads to all sorts of troubles. I am very excited about Drag Racing in main land Nova Scotia and I hope my experiences at this track are better in the future...for both me and the adimistration.
As for the track itself that day, well the one run I did get in was pretty good. I didn't have oppertunity to get my engine to my normal launch RPM and I still cut a very good 60ft time from my car. I like to test the waters a little before I really hammer the car on my first pass. I'm still not finicially comfortable enough to trailer a car so I'm still racing my daily driver. (Everyone needs to start some where) That said, the cold was very good for times, I was only about a tenth off of my best time, and that was 'granny shifting' and lifting a bit on the throttle.

Sorry but there was no miscommunication. Your question to me was about getting another time trial before the race started. Your stated concern was that you just got there and had only one time trial and there was no way you could dial the car with only one time trial. You were told the race was about to start but there would likely be time trials between rounds. Obviously it was not the answer you were looking for.

I think you should be happy with only ONE latecomer whining about not getting enough time trials. We get lots of those people at CB Dragway. Try telling someone who arrives on Sunday at noon that they won't have time for even one pass before eliminations. I had one person come to CB Dragway at 11:00 AM, took his good old time unloading, talked to a couple of dozen people first and then freaked out when he could not get into the staging lanes at 12:30(Staff lunch break 12:30-1:00 then eliminations start at 1:00) Luckily it amounted to no more than a shouting match. Bottom line? GET TO THE TRACK EARLY!!! If racing starts at 9:00 AM you should be in the staging lanes - not at Tim Hortons on the way to the track.
