There appears to be some contrevorsy over the announcement at the last meeting about people under the age of 19 being at our meeting. This announcement was passed on to us by members of the Royal Canadian Legion as they are the ones responsible for the management of the hall. This regulation is not one of the Legion's, but one passed by the provincial government that covers smoking in public places. The Legion hall is one of the few places that smoking is allowed but if anyone under the age of 19 is present, the whole building must go smoke free. The Legion was not advised that underage members of our association would be present, so that is why the announcement was made. In the future ,the Legion must be advised one week in advance of underage people going to be present at our meeting..Again ,this is not a rule of the Legion, or of thr NSDRA, but provincial regulations. On the note of following rules, since a meal is not being served, no alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the meeting room if underage people are present, again a provincial regulation. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding about the meeting, and hope to see you at the next meeting on April 28 th.
Ken Norwood President NSDRA
