There will be a General Meeting of the Nova Scotia Drag Racers Assoc. on November 25 , 2004 at the Legion in Bridgewater , NS . The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm . Some of the items on the agenda will include : 1) Review of the first year . 2) Plans forward for next year . 3) Plans to organize the Sponsorship drive for the new year . 4) Annual Meeting date and location . 5) Other new business .
All members are encouraged to come . New members are welcomed to join before the meeting starts .
Members are encouraged to spread the word to members that may not have email or Internet access .

Highlights from the General Meeting Held in Bridgewater on Nov. 25/04 . 1) Reviewed last years performance . a) 148 paid members of the Association . b) 340 racers/vehicles in the database . c) Equipment purchased - Timing system , 1 PC for Timing system , Bus and tons of the small items needed to race . d) At the last race on Saturday we completed 295 passes down the ΒΌ mile . e) Reviewed financial statement . 2) Listed are a number of projects and their priorities that the Directors recommended and were approved by the membership that we attempt this year : a) Grandstands - 2 sections . Do more later in year as money is available. b) Finish installation of land based power - meter & panel installation to do . c) Purchase PA system - quote requested . d) Concrete Launch Pads - A group has been struck to work out details and a better cost estimate . e) Portable Radios f) Purchase 2nd PC for timing system - (Back-up & ladder PC) g) Timing system upgrades , Mid track sensors
3) Proposing 5 race schedule - basically one a month May to September . No rain dates . Schedule is as follows ; May 14/15 , June 4/5 , July 9/10 , August 20/21 , September 10/11.
4) ADRA has offered two races to us . Directors propose we schedule both races . The ADRA race dates are scheduled for June 4/5 and August 20/21 weekends .
5) Need people to work a Sponsorship drive . Bob Morse has volunteered to head up and coordinate the Sponsorship and Advertising this year . Flyers are ready to go now . Bob will be contacting people in various areas to help with the Sponsorship drive this year . Your support would be requested and welcomed if Bob calls on you .
6) Need to find more volunteers that are non-racers to work the track . The need is for people to work the bleach box , staging lanes , time ticket handout and timing system computers . As well there should be a person to coordinate these volunteers . Also more people need to learn how to set the track up , this includes setting up photocells , timing equipment & computers and PA system .
7) Gate , Parking and Tech going reasonable well now .
8) At a previous Directors/Committee meeting , a discussion was had about age limits. It was decided to lower the age limit that children are admitted free to 12 years of age and under .
9) A Nominating Committee was convened to find replacements for the members of the Board of Directors whose terms are up and for those that are not re-offering .
10) Suggested meeting schedule - Annual Meeting has been tentatively scheduled for March 31 , 2005 at the Bridgewater Legion . We will hold another general meeting before we go racing , probably late April or early May . The various committee's and Directors will meet as the need arises .
11) The running of a point series was discussed . There will be no cash prizes - trophies , merchandize prizes only . $10.00 entry fee for series . Points will be calculated at the end of the last completed round .
12) 2005 membership dues will be collected before the Annual Meeting or may be sent to Doug Decker Treasurer NSDRA PO Box 18 , Brooklyn , Queens County NS , B0J 1H0
Dues are remaining at $20.00 . Also we are investigating having hats and decals made up for sale to the members and at the track .
