Another successfull event, thanks to Mother Nature, the Spectators, the Volunteers and of course You, the Participants.
The weather was perect both days in the low to mid 20's with sunshine and a bit of cloud.
Traction was decent thanks to the first 60 feet being made sticky with the help of Mr. VHT and our new electric sprayer.
A number of changes were done since the first race like enlarging the parking lot, getting power to the food bus so we could alll sleep at night instead of hearing the constant racket of the generator.
Changes were made in the sound system but I think there is a ways to go yet on that issue. There are still a few dead spots.
Our new computer equipment worked flawlessly however the learning curve is steep for using the software associated with the ladders. We will get it figured out probably by the end of the season.........
Unofficially the Participant Vehicle Count was 140 and the Spectators numbered Approx 2500, slightly lower than the first but totally expected with all the other events taking place at the same time like Epping and the Halifax Airshow.
Plenty of time trials for all and the results of the Saturday's gamblers race were:
#1 Doug Decker
#2 Ray Bourque
#3 Was split between M. Whynot and D. Hemeon because both cars were too hot to run.
Sunday strarted at 9:00 AM sharp as advertised, time trials were again abundant and the race began at 12:45 with all classes qualifying and was concluded at almost exactly 5:00 PM with almost every spectator still in attendance and lined up to see the finale. Here are the results.
Bike / Sled
#1 Jason Nowe
#2 Michael Ingram
#3 Sheldon McKay
SportsMan
#1 Scott Sprague
#2 Jody Rhodenizer
#3 Ian Longmire
Pro
