this is the 3rd engine I have helped to repair [weld and remachine] so I thought we would put this out there.........If you run an aluminum heads on an iron motor you will get electrolosis reaction [diferent metals],just like a steel ship in salt water....depending where you live if you put well water in your rad. you are adding salts,phosphenes,arsnic,and iron to the mix....instant corrosion. We use filtered rain water and water wetter,its cheaper than a new set of brodix's.....thanks......Pat

you are exactly right Pat, I personally always use distilled spring water, with either water wetter or puple ice. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I hear what you are saying pat as I too had a hole in my head also ,beside the one on my shoulders lol!.Ayln looked at me & asked if I'd put salt water in the rad as we live so close to the water here!!!in Y town.Maybe I could maybe hook up one of those zinc's we put on our boats, for the same reason.Distilled water for me all the way now!
