If you go to our web site which is nsdra.ca and look under the tech and rules section it will give you guide lines to follow and if you have any further questions than please post them here and they will be answered for you.

ok, so i looked over the rules and tech info. Now this being the first time i've ever done anything in drag racing. Can i build the car. then do a run to find out what type of time i am running. then modify the car to spec's needed for that time lot.

Yes you can, but keep in mind that some of the rules apply no matter how fast the car can run, for example if your battery is relocated from it's original location than you must have a master battery switch which will kill all power in the car while running and a neutral safety switch for an automatic or a clutch activated switch for a manual car so they cannot start when the car is in gear, and if you are running slicks than you need to have a driveshaft loop installed within 6" of the front u joint and it has to completely encircle the driveshaft and be made out of at least 1/4" thick and 2" wide flat stock. Those are 3 very important rules that apply to any car that is going to race at our track. If you have any other question please ask, that is what we are here for.

Welcome Zwicker 122. You should really give some serious thought to buying a rolling chassis or a turnkey operation if you plan to enter this sport. It saves a bunch in the long run --[Time & Money]. There are some well built pieces out there for the taking. I have a couple in mind if you would like to call me at your convience. -- 902--737--1664. All the best, Kevin MacLeod

What I would do in my opinion is find out what class you want to race in and go from there, you need to ask yourself questions like, do you have a budget in mind, if I blow up a motor can I get one right away to replace it, tires, gas. If you go on racingjunk.com you can find a list of cars and A LOT of parts for sale and you can get a rough idea of what it costs.
