Thank you Mrgoodwrenchns for your input I had not looked at it that way and you make a very good point about prize payout. I was looking at it as a good how to incentive to get more SC drivers to race every weekend. And did not think about what the other classes might think. This is why I posted my idea for A SCC lay out. So i could get good usable feed back on it. This class well need all the help and support it can get .And as far as the fun thing and campers and motorhomes go I'm right there with ya. I pull in on Fri sleep on the passenger side floor of my race car all weekend rain or shine don't matter.Tale gate party's after hours and good people make it all worth it. Even had the family with in the tent a few times with rain to lol and after along day of racing and baking in the sun. Cant beat driven up the road 5min to 9mile lake for a swim to cool off. Cant wait to do it all over again. THANKS D-Man

BEN by all means if you have any ideas to put towards a SCC for Greenfield by all means post them up. I did say I am leaning towards the cars that we have here .So my Q is if this class was set say 11sec or slower. Would you be more inclined to race all 5 weekends for points. Keeping in mind G.field Does not run a heads up racing program.

im going to do my best to get to as many events as I can this summer, having said that, who knows if i might break something this year or not...
I would like to say i would come out to all 5 events if it was 11 sec or slower, but whether my car agrees with me or not, is another story.

and i appologise mrgoodwrench, I thought you were attacking the sport compacts and saying we were all new to the whole racing thing.
I agree with you about the payout. that would be alot of money to a new class, I think ANY payout should reflect the class itself. I wouldnt say a bunch of street cars that dont have a ton of money invested into them, should get such a big payout.. Thats just my opinion. I would understand why some of the super pro guys would be pissed off about that, most of them have alot of money invested..
The faster you go, the more things cost...

apology accepted ben i wasn't attacking the s/c some the guys are just as nice as anyone and yeah there are some punks but hey some are in 10 sec camaros too.i agree rob i love coming and hanging out but i just can't do the weekend thing due to circumstances so its usually either sat or sun and i picked sun so i could run for points.yes speed is directly propotional to $$$ that is why i am slow but i have plans for a pro class pickup just need time and money to make it reality but i do have the truck.

Robert, Ben, and Ian, as a Super Pro driver I have no problem with the payouts as described. If you look on the home page under tech, fees, etc you will see the other classes are rewarded well every weekend for placing in the top 3. I love the thought of having more SC cars at the track. Just remember though these payouts are still in the discussion phase and have to be approved by the NSDRA membership. After all it is a democracy. The more SC members the quicker it's passed. The next voting meeting will be sometime in March, lots of time to join and can be done the night of the meeting. John

Numbers speak for themselves, that is what will make your SCC fact or fiction. Support in numbers EVERY RACE WEEKEND is the key, believe me I am not talking out my butt, Have wanted this for the last 4 plus yrs, never happens as the numbers cannot support it.
So in closing the MEETING in March will be the right place to show up and make your plight known, not just one person either, this is where the number thing comes in to play.

sam you are right i support anything to get more people out but to create a new class they need numbers and supports the s/c weekend last year was a joke to be blunt there was what 5 cars?and ben just to clearify if you haven't already figured it out i run a monte carlo so i won't be in this class was just giving an opinion.sportsman racing can be intimadating to new racers but i stuck it out and have fun and while i still am fairly new and have lots to learn still anyone that wants a hand from me can have it if i can help

^^"s/c weekend last year was a joke to be blunt there was what 5 cars?",I believe 90% of the Maritimes SC cars were in Mirimichi that weekend.,.,Ive attended the last two SC weekends there, and had an awesome time camping and racing at night next to bonfires!. Can't be at 2 dragstrips at the same time.

And you are right about that. Two events on the same weekend did not help us at all. But I do believe there where more than 5cars I think it was more like 10 or 12 cars.

its really hard to make greenfield appealing to the SC community on a weekend that falls on same one as miramichi.
We go up there for a weekend, run as much as we want.. (classes and time trials all weekend) In between classes they run time trials.
We pay to race the whole weekend, camp for free and we have something to do when the lights go down..
Im not bashing Greenfield, I want it to continue to improve because it is only an hour away from me.. Im just pointing out a reason to the SC number issues that weekend.

Last time I checked we do not charge for camping but as we are not a campground we cannot allow any fires as our lease agreement will not allow this to happen and if we do not comply with their wishes then we will not have a place to race and grow the sport for all the local races to enjoy.
Also Miramachi is a facility that operates and needs to make a profit as we are a non profit facility and alot of times schedules conflict because of need, we have a July raceweekend that doesn't have anything else attached so that is a good time to do your SCC event, we run fast and efficient so 50 + SCC cars wouldn't be a problem, just need to show and go.
