From what I've found, most headers should clear everything. Depends on what engine your putting in as to what style to get though.

Basically anything should fit then. From what I've found, biggest issue is frame clearance, but that was on earlier models, most anything short of a big block should work without difficulty.

Ian you do need a header made for the S10 and in turn you also need the motor mounts to go with the header that you will be using, some headers require the 2.8L motor mount while others need the 350 style mount. Come see me at the next race and I'll explain what exactly you need, as I have been involved in a few of these swaps.

Ian, Sam is right you need to buy the propper headers to work with the motor mounts you are useing and these headers aren't cheap .. Your best bet would be to buy a complete kit that gives you everything needed to do the job.. But I bet I know of a place real close to you where you can get a front motor and mid plate ;)lol..

The Monte Carlo/Impala not filling the gap anymore!? LOL, Bob. PS...I'm a Ford guy so I don't know what that thing is you drive! LOL, all in fun. And by the way, Sam's the Man to help you with the S10 thingy! Glad to see you are thinking of moving up ...if you are going to do it, PRO will more than likely give you some longevity ...S/P will give you a short term rush, but a lot of heartache! Take it from someone who has been there! LOL, Bob

yeah its a monte and all ood bob lol i can take some ribbing actually i figure 4 years racing the monte is enough time to go a little faster and be the chaser for a change plus now that i have a trailer (thanks to kevin brown) i have no need to have a street legal car and the truck is being given to me by my grandfather i figure a junkyard 350 and tranny for now and a stripped truck will work just fine for the time being.

it's on hold only because of money and time the truck sits in my yard awaiting lol i have a motor and tranny spoken for just need to raise the funds to purchase getting a complete 350 with roller cam does need better heads though and a turbo 350 with a shift kit and i have a torque convertor already.would like to hit the track with it next year but i have a feeling it will be at least another year unless something drastic like a good sponser happens lol i did find out that i can easlier move my column over enough for clearance and this was info from someone who put a 400 in one using stock manifolds and regular v8 mounts off and older car

If you want to run manifolds then all you need to do is have a set from the 82-92 V8 camaro- firebirds and run the factory style motor mount with some 3/8'' adapter plates , then you don't have to more the steering columm anywhere, but remember there is hp in headers, for example, the Cavy when first run had manifolds and a 650 cfm carb, ran a number of 12.67, next out we did headers and a 750 carb and it went 12.15 and will do better, there is hp in headers for sure, also they are more affordable then you think, like I told you before, contact me when you are ready to do something with the truck and I'll help you with parts and things like that, no problem at all .

Hey Ian Sam is right about headers makeing horsepower and I have dyno proof of that.. I dynoed my 355 at Armstrongs with my 1-5/8 headers and then put on their 1-3/4 headers and made a pull and made 15 more hp so just imagine the gain from manifolds that can't breath to even a pair shorty headers And I bet I know where there is a plasma table with motor and mid plate on file in your back yard that will give you even more header room
